Holding Fees & Deposits

Harbour Properties charge a Holding Fee for each rental property application, which is 20.0% of one month’s rent. This holding fee amount will then be deducted from the first months rent on commencement of the tenancy.

Please note if you, as the applicant, back out of the tenancy yourselves, fail the right to rent checks, have provided false or misleading information, fail credit checks, or where we are unable to get required information needed from you and you fail to provide it within 15 days, then this fee is non-refundable.

Deposits: The usual deposit for a property will be equal to one month’s rent, although this can be different if set by an individual landlord (to a maximum of 5 weeks rent). All deposits that are kept by Harbour Properties, will be lodged in either our Custodial or Insured scheme with the Deposit Protection Service (DPS). When landlords are accepting an application with a pet(s), there may be an increased pet deposit of 15.0% on top of the usual deposit amount.
